Refund Policy
DRAFT — FOR LAWYER REVIEW. This document has not been reviewed by a qualified lawyer and is not yet binding on anyone. Points needing professional input are marked ⚑ lawyer inline. Do not launch against it.
1. Where you bought decides who refunds
- tincograph.com: sold by Paddle.com, our merchant of record. Paddle takes the payment, issues the invoice, handles tax and processes the refund.
- Softbox app (Google Play): sold by Google Play. Google processes the payment and the refund under Google Play’s refund policy. We cannot refund a Play purchase ourselves; request it in Google Play (Order history, Report a problem / Request a refund) or through Google Play support.
Either way, a refund also takes back the credits and plan time it paid for (section 4).
2. Web purchases (Paddle)
You can get a full refund of any payment within 14 days of the date it was made, your first payment and any renewal, whatever the reason and whether or not you used the plan. The plan it paid for then ends at once.
After 14 days payments are not refundable except where the law requires it or where we failed to provide the service you paid for (for example a sustained outage). Write to us and we will look at each case.
How to ask: reply to your Paddle receipt, find your order at paddle.net, or email [email protected] from the address you bought with. Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days.
3. EU / UK consumers: 14-day right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK you can withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. Our 14-day refund above is at least as generous. For digital content and services that start immediately, the law lets the right lapse once the service has begun if you expressly asked for it to start now and acknowledged that you lose the right of withdrawal. At checkout you are asked for exactly that; where you do not give that consent, or where the law does not allow the loss of the right, your right of withdrawal stays in full. Nothing in this policy limits rights you have by law.
4. Credits and refunds
Credits come from one pool for your whole account. When a payment is refunded or reversed (refund, chargeback, Google revocation), the credits it granted are taken back from your pool. If some were already spent, your balance can become negative; spending is blocked until it is positive again (the next grant or pack covers it). We do not pay back credits already spent on finished generations; credits held for a job that failed or was blocked by the safety check are released automatically and cost nothing.
When credits expire. Credits from a pack never expire. Subscription credits roll over for as long as you stay subscribed; after you cancel they stay spendable for 90 days after the end of the paid period, and we remind you by email before they expire. While an account is blocked for a breach of the Terms (section 7 there), its unused credits are frozen, not refunded; a successful appeal unfreezes them.
5. Cancelling is not refunding
Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps your plan until the end of the paid period. Cancel in the place you bought: Google Play, Subscriptions, or your account page (Manage subscription) for web purchases. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription.
